Purchase With a Purpose

While driving to one of mine and my daughter's “outings”, I passed a billboard that made my heart sink…It simply said, “Stop Human Trafficking”. Immediately, I got sick to my stomach as I glanced into the backseat and looked into my beautiful girl’s eyes and began to cry.

As the day passed, I couldn’t seem to erase that billboard from my thoughts so I began to research and was shocked to find that this form of slavery is so prevalent.  As days went on, I became more and more consumed with disgust and anger that this occurs. Why does God allow such horrors to happen to these young women and…CHILDREN?  Why doesn’t He put an end to this and many more horrific injustices?  I just haven’t been able to let this one go…

God has totally broken my heart for these young women and children.  I heard of an organization while listening to KLOVE— my 3 year old daughter gave me a turn to listen (that’s another post for another day J )

Anyway…it’s called Abolition International. As it turns out, they are hosting their biggest fundraising event during the month of July…called 31 days of Freedom.  If you are like me, I may not be able to contribute much on my own. I am currently teaching full time because I am staying home with my girl, but I have decided to host a fundraiser during those 31 days…using my Teacher’s Gumbo Store on Teachers Pay Teachers.

The fundraiser will be called “Purchase With a Purpose”.  During the month of July, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Abolition International. I hope that you will find some clipart or materials from my store that you will consider purchasing during the month of July to help support Abolition International. If not, please consider donating directly to their website.
I am very passionate about helping this organization and in the words of Matthew West, I hope that you will join me and “Do Something”.
